The shower!

It was so nice! It's crazy how time flies, isn't it? I was looking forward to it for so long and then POOF, it's over!

The venue was nice, we got our own private little corner. The food was pretty good. The cake looked beautiful. And my family and besties were there. What more could a girl ask for?!

Here's some pictures:

"Welcome Parker" banner.

The cake!

My sister made this beautiful diaper cake!

My Aunt did all the little decorations for the table, so cute.

Me and my Grandma.

Me with Parker's Grandmas.

Me and my best friends.

Daddy & Mommy!

Present overload!

So, we got a LOT of stuff. I mean a lot haha. Just a few more things we need to get:

car seat
car seat base

hats, socks & bibs

changing pad & waterproof insert
waterproof boppy insert (got 1, need 1 more)
burp cloths
bottles

diaper genie refill, diapers & wipes
butt cream

snot sucker
baby wash
nail clippers
meds (grip water, gas relief drops)
thermometer
bath tub (got one, but returning it for different one)
hooded towels (got 1, need more)

co-sleeper (have heard we don't need)
activity mat (Grandma's getting for Christmas)

pump accessories

And as far as the nursery:

1. Get collage frames. (Should be today!)
2. Print out art I made and order the last one. (Next week.)
3. Figure out how I want them to be hung and have Doug hang them.
4. String "Parker" banner onto ribbon and hang, possibly with mustache "ends".
5. Have Doug FINALLY touch up paint. (This weekend!)
6. Have Doug hang shelves, (the one I ordered should be here soon) and add items to them.
7. Buy curtain rod, hang curtains, hem as necessary.
8. Buy changing pad and waterproof inserts. (Amazon, next week.)
9. Have Doug hang "P is for Parker" print.
10. Get new outlets! They're old, dirty and hideous.
11. Have Doug hang closet shelf.
12. Stack diapers in closet, in changing table and under crib.
13. Finish adding velcro to boppy cover & diapers/wipes cases for diaper bag.
14. Pick outfit to hang on shelf with hooks.
15. Dust and vacuum!

He's almost here!

30 weeks!

How far along? 30 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: About 35 lbs.
Stretch marks? Are out of control on my butt and thighs :(
Sleep: Been sick, so it's been hard!
Best moment this week: The 4D ultrasound today!!
Miss Anything? SO sick of summer. And this pain in my shoulder is debilitating.
Movement: He's super active and I love it.
Food cravings: Water and chocolate.
Labor Signs: Nope. And braxton hicks have ended, which is weird.
Belly Button in or out? Out most of the time.
Wedding rings on or off? Officially can't wear it anymore :(
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy. Hot and uncomfortable, but happy. -- Same.
Looking forward to: Feeling hiccups. My shower - TOMORROW! (So friggin exciting.) Finishing crochet blanket I started for him. Our classes. (Super informative!) The 4D ultrasound. (Was awesome!)

My chubby bunny is 4lbs 6oz. That's INSANE to me! So crazy. I can't wait to see him. Oh! And he has ROLLS - she showed them to us! And HAIR!! So so neat.

Random stuff.

First of all, this burning stinging shoulder blade pain is AWFUL. Ugh. (Updating this on 8/21/12 and the pain is much worse. Boo.) (Reading this a YEAR later.. 9/16/13.. and the pain is still here, as I type... ugh!!)

Secondly, I can feel him under my pelvic bone - so weird! That's new as of yesterday. He is head down, with legs bent up and feet by his head, so it could be feet or hands (or both) that are jabbing me. It's an odd sensation for sure.

And lastly, I'm trying to look at my registry very practically, and think about the things on it that if we DON'T get for the shower, that we absolutely need to buy. Here's what I've come up with.

car seat
car seat base

hats, socks & bibs

changing pad & waterproof insert
waterproof boppy insert
burp cloths
bottles

diaper genie refill, diaperswipes
butt cream

snot sucker
baby wash
nail clippers
meds (grip water, gas relief drops)
thermometer (hospital gives you one)
bath tub
hooded towels
bath sponge

co-sleeper
activity mat

pump accessories

8/21/12 - I've crossed off some things I know or am pretty sure we are getting for shower.

I've put all these items on a Babies R Us registry, so we will get 10% off after the shower if and when we need to buy some of these items.

29 weeks yesterday!

One short year.

It's amazing how time is so relative.

We went to a friend's BBQ last year, around this time. And I was saying to Doug the other day how I couldn't BELIEVE it had been a year - it felt like just yesterday I was wasted on jello shots! Haha. (I never drink, so I remember the few times that I get buzzed really well!)

I decided to look up in my blog where in our TTC journey we were 1 year ago.

Almost to the day, I wrote this post: Every Infertile Has Her Day. I took a pregnancy test in a Burger King bathroom. It was obviously negative. I remember how sad I felt.

I wish I could hug my year-ago self. Tell her to hang on. And that YES, it was really going to happen one day! To not give up. To keep going. To work my ass off and do whatever... WHATEVER... it took to make it happen.

But I don't need to. Because I did. And here we are. And for that I am so so grateful.

28 weeks!

How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: About 33 lbs.
Maternity clothes? See above.
Stretch marks? Still none on belly and I'm still hoping really hard!
Sleep: Very tired lately. 10 hours at night, and a nap during the day sometimes.

Best moment this week: Seein my bub today.
Miss Anything? Comfortable weather. Sleeping through the night.
Movement: He's a very active little boy!

Food cravings: Iced tea and chocolate. And fruit and Ranch dressing. -- Yup.
Anything making you queasy or sick: A skunk did the other day. It was horrible!
Labor Signs: Nope. But lots of Braxton Hicks. So hopefully my body is at least getting ready. -- Yup!!
Belly Button in or out? Out most of the time, depending on where he is and where he's pushing.

Wedding rings on or off? Eh, it's getting harder to wear it when it's really hot and I'm swollen. -- Same.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy. Hot and uncomfortable, but happy. -- Same.
Looking forward to: Feeling hiccups. My shower - only 6 5 4 3 weeks away! (So friggin exciting.) Finishing quilt. Finishing crochet blanket I started for him. Seeing him again on Friday. Seeing him again on Monday! Finding out what doc says about his size a week from today. Our classes. The 4D ultrasound.
